For Teachers & Classrooms
When teachers use START tools to connect their students with who they are, what they care about, and how they can use their talents in areas of interests to do work that matters to them, their students demonstrate more meaningful and engaged behaviors – developing greater Responsibility, Resilience and Resourcefulness.
All kids are born with the capacity to engage, to innovate, and to lead. In our research, we find that the students who fare best in preparedness and well-being have had opportunities to discover, practice, and develop and build their skills and abilities in many areas over many years – at school, at home, and in their community.
They also have at least one teacher, parent, or mentor who believes in them. With this support, students learn to believe in themselves, and in so doing, experience greater success and happiness.
The work is more important than ever, given today’s high pressure, high stakes, college prep culture. We invite you to join us as we extend the reach of this work to schools across the country so that we can shift the crushingly competitive culture for good - one classroom, one family, and one community at a time.
